Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu. Our staff will receive you at the airport giving you a warm and hospitable welcome. A private transportation will take you to your hotel where our guide will explain briefly the program upon arrival at hotel.
After breakfast our guide will receive you at the hotel for a full day city tour where, you will visit and explore the cultural heritage of Kathmandu. Kathmandu valley is illustrated by five groups of monuments and buildings, which display the full range of historic and artistic achievements for which the Kathmandu Valley has been known and recognized. The five include the Durbar Squares of Hanuman Dhoka, the Buddhist stupas of Swayambhunath and Bauddhanath and the Hindu temple of Pashupatinath.
Because it’s your first day in Kathmandu, we will arrange an authentic Nepali cuisine for dinner. After dinner you can take a late night stroll in the streets of Thamel- one of the major tourist hub.
After having had your breakfast at the hotel we will have ready a private transportation with your guide to receive you. Kathmandu to Pokhara is a 5-hour drive, exciting and interesting you will travel along the riverside with wonderful view of hills and rural Nepalese lifestyle.
Pokhara (activities) Pokhara is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Nepal. Three out of the ten highest mountains in the world namely, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna and Manaslu are situated within 30 miles of the city. Hence, the northern skyline of the city offers a very close view of the Himalayas. Apart form the mountain ranges Pokhara is also known for Fewa Lake, an emerald green color lake nesting within the hills will give you a make your stay soothing and your experience memorable.
Pokhara is quite a modern city, however, many medieval era temples (Barahi temple, Bindyabasini, Gupteshwor Mahadev, Devi's fall.) and old traditional Nepali houses are still a part of the city.
Today we will visit the ‘Seti River gorge’ - one of the best places to see. You will have an opportunity to take a glimpse to the limestone cave of ‘Mahendra Gufa’ the cave is well known for its stalactites. Later in the evening you can walk along the streets beside the lake. Filled with tourist from different parts of the world, Lake Side area promise entertainment and excitement to the fullest. Music and Language change with every step you take and every restaurants and shops have different varieties, taste and flavor to offer.
Today early in the morning we will take a 45 minutes drive to Sarangkot. The sight of sunrise from Sarangkot is the moment of supreme beauty leading you inwards into the mystery of creation. You may perhaps get carried away by the grandeur of the sunrise from Sarangkot. After having witnessed the magnificent sunrise, you can either choose to paraglide or take the Zip line to descend down from Sarangkot to Pokhara. Filled with excitement and thrill- it will be an experience you will always cherish. After lunch, we rest for a while and take a private van to the World Peace Stupa, another few kilometers away from the city. Nothing beats the view of the snow-capped mountains from the world Peace Stupa. Also, you can sit, relax and enjoy the sunset for the stupa.
After breakfast, we travel overland from Pokhara to Royal Chitwan National Park. Pokhara to Chitwan is a five-hour drive and will have you pass through paddy field and flatlands. The villages on the way are the typical Terai style Nepali villages. You will see the variation in geography and culture after the first few hours of the ride.
Chitwan is one of the few undisturbed vestiges of the Terai region, which firmly extended over the foothills of Nepal. Chitwan National Park is the first national park of Nepal. Established in 1973 it was granted status of a World Heritage in 1984. It is home to al least 43 species of mammals. The king of the jungle is the ‘Royal Bengal Tiger’ and ‘One Horned Rhinoceros’. Chitwan National Park is one of Nepal’s most visited tourist destination. Sauraha is a well-known spot for tourist, located on the edge of the National Park.
Today after breakfast we have a lot to do and see. Jungle Safari riding, elephant bathing, jungle walks, 4WD safaris and village stroll in late evening. The market is very lively you may find interesting souvenirs to take back home. Later at night we will have diner served with a cultural performance and bonfire.
After breakfast today we will leave for Lumbini- the birthplace of Gautam Buddha.Lumbini is the place of Siddhartha Gautama, who as the Buddha Gautama founded Buddhism. Lumbini was where Buddha lived until the age of 29. In 1997 Lumbini was listed a World Heritage Site.
The holy site of Lumbini has the has ruins of ancient monasteries, a sacred Bodhi Tree, and ancient bathing pond, the Ashokan Pillar and the Mayadevi Temple, where the precise place of birth of Gautam Buddha is located. From early morning to evening, pilgrims from various countries perform chanting and meditation at the site.
A large monastic zone borders the holy site of Lumbini, in which only monasteries can be built, no shops, hotels or restaurants.
Today we travel to the outskirts, 27km west of Lumbini to visit the important archaeological site, Tilaurkot, the ancient palace of King Suddodha (Siddhartha Gautama’s father), where the Buddha spent his formative years as a Shakya Prince. Allow yourself for a moment to wander around and soak the atmosphere. There's a museum nearby, The Kapilvastu Museum; the pottery, jewelry and ornaments are gathered in-house. End up the peaceful and serine tour in Tilaurkot by visiting the shrines, monasteries and stupa near the sacred garden.
After breakfast, we leave Lumbini for Kathmandu. Check-in at hotel, rest of the day is at your own leisure or if you are not that tiered you may explore Thamel by yourself. A great place to buy souvenirs for memories and loved ones.
It can be an easy day for shopping- or departure/ depend on your flight/ timing.
